Covenanting…
The Scripture describes the church as a “family” and a “body and tells its members to love one another, encourage one another, bear with one another, exhort one another, pray for one another, and so forth. We are brought into a covenant relationship with each other by the God who has drawn us into a covenant with himself and as expressed in our Church Covenant. We are not individuals in casual relationships with one another, but a people made one in Christ.
In Christ…
These two words capture the heart of the Gospel. “But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions-it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:4-7). Our life comes from Christ and is to be lived to his glory. It is our unity in Christ that gives our covenantal commitment its strength and purpose.
To Disciple…
Our mission is to “make disciples” of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19). Discipleship has two parts: first, calling people to a faith in Jesus Christ which is expressed in baptism; and second, teaching them how to walk in a life of obedience to their new Lord. This is the great work of the church. Our aim is to offer ways by which anyone (at whatever age and at whatever level of spiritual understanding) can enter into the process of becoming a disciple of Jesus with our. Our discipleship has two specific focal points:
Our Families…
The first and primary small group ministry designed by God is the family. In a day when family ties and order are severely weakened, we seek to encourage and equip families of whatever size and composition to be “little churches” where God is worshipped and where godly fathers (when present) joyfully exercise spiritual leadership.
And the World.
There remain many men, women and children, near and far, from our neighborhoods, workplaces and schools to distant countries, who have yet to hear and respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our goal is to bring Christ to them and help those who believe to go on to maturity in Christ.
