Missions

For over thirty years reaching out to others with the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been a priority at the First Congregational Church. This Spring the church is again sending a team of over 30 to serve in the name of Jesus in the depressed coal mine region of Kentucky through Equip. In addition, others often spend two weeks in the summer in the Ukraine with Easter European Outreach. The following are some of the missionaries and ministries we help support:

Richard and Pam Agnew (New Tribes Mission)

Serving with New Tribes Mission. In training for future assignment.

Bethany Christian Services

Bethany Christian Services is an international, pro-life adoption and family services agency based in Michigan. The local office is in North Andover, MA.

Barrie and Tillie Flitcroft (Equip)

Barrie is the General manager of Equip. Equip’s mission is to prepare, send and support evangelical missionaries to assist the church around the world to be responsive to the poor, sensitive to the Holy Spirit, focused on personal evangelism, and practically engaged in strengthening the Body of Christ.

Grace Baptist Church, Islamabad, Pakistan

Martha Gushee (Indian Bible College)

Serving with United Indian Missions, ministering among Native Americans at the Indian Bible College, Flagstaff, Arizona.

Jews for Jesus

Jews for Jesus is an international evangelistic outreach to the Jewish people based in San Francisco, CA.  Over the years, our church has been particularly close to Tuvya Zaretsky, one of the founders of J4J and currently the Director of Staff Development.  His latest project has been working with Jewish and Gentile couples, the fruit of which can be seen at www.jewishgentilecouples.com.

Manfred and Barbara Kohl (Overseas Council)

Manfred is a former pastor of First Congregational now serving as European Director of the Overseas Council, facilitating Christian leadership development through evangelical theological education.

New England Institute of Religious Research

Founded by Bob Pardon, a former pastor of First Congregational Church, the NEIRR ministers to people caught in destructive cultic religious structures through direct evangelism, training others to reach them, providing support to families of those involved, and providing emotional and spiritual healing to ex-members. NEIRR operates Meadowhaven in Lakeville, a one-of-its-kind shelter for people coming out of cults.

Marat and Christine Rasulov (TEAM)

Marat and Christine serve with TEAM in Krassnodar, Russia, training Russian Christians to evangelize, disciple and plant churches.
