Who We Are

Inside our meetinghouse, just above the main door, are painted the words: “Great is Thy Faithfulness.” Those four words sum up the history and heartbeat of Church at the Green.

It’s hard to separate Church at the Green from our history. After all, not many churches in New England were (a) established by sons of Pilgrims from Plymouth, or (b) worship God today with a passion for the Gospel.

For more than 325 years, God has faithfully preserved Church at the Green as a place where Scripture is treasured, truth is upheld, and people are loved. We hope you’ll come and experience what it means to have a relationship with a God who will “never leave you nor forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:6).

We Believe

The Bible

We believe the Bible (consisting of the Old and New Testament) to be the only inspired, inerrant, infallible, authoritative Word of God written.

THREE-IN-ONE

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

JEsus

We believe in the deity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return to power and glory.

SALVATION

We believe that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for lost and sinful man.

HOLY SPIRIT

We believe that the indwelling power and fulness of the Holy Spirit enables the Christian to live a godly life in this present evil world.

RESURRECTION

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost. They that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

UNITY

We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in Christ.
